Sunrisers Hyderabad won the IPL in 2016 and reached the finals in 2018 season.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad has been one of the most exciting franchises in the IPL tournament. They replaced the now-defunct Deccan Chargers in 2013 and is owned by Sun TV Network. Their biggest achievement is winning the IPL tournament in 2016 and reaching the finals in 2018.

The team had made it into the playoffs in their debut season in 2013 and have done it again in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. Their first captain was Kumar Sangakkara of Sri Lanka, while David Warner and Kane Williamson have captained them the most with 46 and 26 matches respectively. Their current head coach is Trevor Bayliss, while Brad Haddin is the assistant coach of the team. Muttiah Muralitharan is the bowling coach, while VVS Laxman is the batting mentor.

The franchise is one of the most successful ones winning 54% of their matches so far in the tournament and therefore, Team COC presents to you the All-time XI of the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

DAVID WARNER (C)

David Warner has been the embodiment of the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise ever since joining the team in 2014. Warner took over the captaincy and led the team to their one and only title to date in 2016. He had scored 848 runs in that season, just behind Virat Kohli’s tally of 973 runs. Warner was banned for a year in 2018, but came back in 2019 and took over from where he left. SRH will hope for Warner to continue his form in the upcoming season.

SHIKHAR DHAWAN

Shikhar Dhawan was the anchor of the SRH team before Warner and even captained the side briefly. He scored 2518 runs in 85 games for the team, before parting ways with the team in 2019. Dhawan usually played second fiddle to the much aggressive Warner but held his own if his partners faltered. A true team man if there was one for the SRH franchise.   


JONNY BAIRSTOW (WK)

Jonny Bairstow was brought in the 2019 auction and made an immediate impact for the SRH team making 445 runs including one century and dominating the competition. He was retained by the franchise before the IPL 2020 and fans expect him to continue entertaining them in the upcoming season.


KANE WILLIAMSON

Kane Williamson joined the franchise in 2015 and was part of the IPL winning 2016 tournament as well. Williamson came to the fore when Warner was banned in the 2018 season and he led the team to the finals of the tournament against Chennai Super Kings. He won the Orange Cap for the season with 735 runs and is expected to continue as a player and possibly captain as well for the IPL 2020.

 

YUVRAJ SINGH

Yuvraj Singh played for SRH for two seasons and made 488 runs in 22 matches with two half-centuries. He hit 21 sixes and 52 fours for the Hyderabad team at a strike rate of 137.07. He played a big role in SRH’s IPL 2016 tournament win.

MANISH PANDEY

Manish Pandey was bought by the SRH franchise in 2018 and has played 27 games scoring 628 runs with 6 half-centuries. He has been retained for the upcoming season and is expected to play a bigger role for the team.


MOISES HENRIQUES
M: 42| Runs: 755| SR: 128.83| HS: 74*| 100s: 0| 50s: 5| 6s: 23| 4s: 63| Wkts: 28| Eco: 8.26| BB: 3/16

Moises Henriques was the kingpin in the middle order for the franchise form 2014-2017 and played a major role in SRH’s 2016 IPL win. He played 42 games and made 755 runs and picked 28 wickets as well. SRH is still to find a fast-bowling all-rounder after his departure from the team.


RASHID KHAN

SRH splurged INR 9 crores on Rashid Khan in 2017 and he has repaid them with 55 wickets in 46 matches at an impressive economy of 6.55. He has contributed with the bat as well scoring 104 runs with some amazing cameos with a strike rate of 165.07.

 

BHUVNESHWAR KUMAR

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been with the SRH franchise from 2014 onwards and has even captained the team in 2019 when Kane Williamson missed a few matches due to injury. He has 109 wickets in 86 games for the team with one five-wicket haul and an economy of 7.41. Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be a big asset for the franchise when the team plays the 2020 edition of the tournament.

AMIT MISHRA

Amit Mishra has been one of the best bowlers in IPL, picking over 150 wickets playing for various franchises. He has 28 wickets in 27 matches for SRH and also picked a hat-trick for them against Pune Warriors India in 2013 IPL. A brilliant leggie, Mishra was one of the key bowlers for the team for two seasons.  


SIDDHARTH KAUL

Siddharth Kaul’s best season for SRH came in IPL 2017 when he picked 16 wickets in 10 games proving to be a perfect foil for Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Since then, he has become one of the best bowlers in the IPL picking 43 wickets in 34 games for SRH with the best bowling of 4/29.
