Mumbai Indians have won IPL thrice in 2013, 2015 and 2017.
Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians are spoilt for choice when it comes to batting power with the arrival of Quinton de Kock in the lineup. With him and Rohit at the top and a settled middle order comprising of Suryakumar Yadav, the Pandya brothers, and Pollard, Mumbai can hope to mask a glaring problem in their squad.
The problem is the lack of fast bowling options with Adam Milne and Lasith Malinga opting out of IPL 2019 due to injury for Milne and other reasons for Malinga. This means they are left with Jasprit Bumrah and Mitchell McClenaghan as pure pace options with the backup of Hardik Pandya and Ben Cutting as fast bowling all-rounders.
Toss: Mumbai Indians won the toss and opted to bowl first.
