Yashasvi Jaiswal made 427 runs in IPL 2026 for RR with 3 fifties and strike rate of 152.50.
Rajasthan Royals officials have revealed their stance on opener Yashasvi Jaiswal amidst reports of him being traded to another franchise in the ongoing IPL 2027 trade window.
According to media speculation, Jaiswal may be involved in a trade agreement with the Mumbai Indians that also includes Hardik Pandya. But according to RR sources, Jaiswal hasn't told the franchise that he wants to depart.
“He (Jaiswal) hasn't told us anything (about leaving the franchise). We are planning things for the next season with him firmly on our roster. We have heard some rumors, but from our side, Jaiswal is very much our player,” an RR official told RevSportz.
In the IPL, Jaiswal has scored 2,593 runs in 83 matches, including two centuries and 18 fifties, with a best score of 124 and an impressive strike rate of 152.8. He made his IPL debut for RR in the 2020 season.
Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal was fined 25% of his match fees for his altercation with Sri Lanka’s Asitha Fernando, who was also penalized. The duo were also handed a demerit point each.
Jaiswal and Fernando almost came to blows after the pacer dismissed the India opener in the 17th over of the Indian innings in the ongoing second Test in Colombo. Jaiswal approached Fernando, and after exchanging comments, Fernando turned to face Jaiswal. Jaiswal leaned in in return, bringing their heads together.
"Both players admitted the offenses and accepted the sanctions proposed by Andy Pycroft of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees, so there was no need for formal hearings.
Both players were found to have breached Article 2.12 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “inappropriate physical contact with a player, player support personnel, umpire, match referee, or any other person (including a spectator during an international match)." In addition to this, one demerit point each has been added to the disciplinary records of Fernando and Jaiswal, both of whom did not have any previous offenses in the preceding 24-month period," the ICC statement read.
