Five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Mumbai Indians (MI) are ready for a massive trade as they are reportedly in talks with 2008 IPL champions Rajasthan Royals (RR) for a swap between Hardik Pandya and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Hardik's group is in advanced negotiations for a trade with the Rajasthan Royals after he led the Mumbai team for the previous three seasons, after being traded from the Gujarat Titans. The Rajasthan Royals are prepared to let go of opener Yashasvi Jaiswal to add Pandya, according to a RevSportz report.

Jaiswal’s inclusion might solve a lot of things for MI. With Rohit Sharma in the twilight of his career, MI needs someone to bolster their top order. Jaiswal plays for Mumbai in Indian domestic cricket and is seen as the long-term solution at the top.

On the other hand, new Rajasthan Royals owners want a marquee player to join the franchise before IPL 2027 to kickstart their tenure, and who better than Hardik Pandya, who has won the IPL both as a player and as a captain.

The report also stated that MI will be offloading Suryakumar Yadav, as the batter is facing a sharp dip in his form. He has also lost his India T20I captaincy and spot in the Indian team as well.

There would be plenty of suitors for the former India T20I skipper. According to reports, teams from both the North and the East are keen to sign him, and both are prepared to make the deal better by giving him captaincy.

MI is looking at the next chapter with the old guard going out, and the report added that Tilak Varma is being seen as the next captain.

Rohit Sharma’s future was discussed in the report as well. According to insiders, if the veteran decides to stay, it will be for one last season in the recognizable blue and gold. Beyond that, it's unclear if he will immediately move into a coaching or mentoring position for the upcoming season. This choice will largely depend on how his international career develops in the upcoming months.
