Virat Kohli hit his 9th IPL ton and completed 14,000 runs in T20 cricket as well.
Krunal had tipped the RCB star to make a spectacular recovery after Kohli suffered a rare downturn with consecutive ducks.
"Virat Kohli is a champion player. When he fails for two games, I get more excited because I know he will come back. We are never tense about him. He is a different beast; he has a lot of hunger. From here on, I am sure Virat Kohli will do Virat Kohli things," he said after the RCB defeated MI in Raipur.
Against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Virat Kohli finally got his form back and smashed 105* with 11 fours and 3 sixes, as he shouldered the RCB chase of 192 runs, posted by KKR. This was Kohli’s 9th IPL century, and he also completed 14,000 runs in T20 cricket, becoming the first Indian to do so.
The knock also transformed the Orange Cap race, lifting Kohli to third with 484 runs from 12 matches at an average of 53.77 and a strike rate of 165.75.
RCB won the game by six wickets and moved to the number one spot in the IPL 2026 points table with 16 points from 8 wins in 12 games.
Following the victory, Krunal shared a celebratory Instagram post with Kohli, with the pair posing with their hands forming ‘100’. The caption was short and pointed: “I told you so.”
