Gujarat Titans moved to no.1 spot in IPL 2026 points table with 8 wins and 16 points in 12 games.
Shubman Gill (5) and Jos Buttler (7) were dismissed early, but Sai Sudharsan hit 61 with five fours and two sixes to keep the GT innings going. Nishant Sindhu contributed 22 runs to help stabilize the innings. Washington Sundar, on the other side, hit a superb 50 to bring GT's total up to par.
He hit 50 in 33 balls, including seven fours and one six, as GT finished on 168/5 in 20 overs. Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain each claimed two wickets for SRH.
In response, GT bowlers rattled the SRH batting lineup right from the start. Mohammed Siraj dismissed Travis Head for a duck in the first over, and Abhishek Sharma fell to Kagiso Rabada in the next over.
Barring Pat Cummins (19), Heinrich Klaasen (14), and Salil Arora (16), none of the other SRH batters stood up to the brilliant bowling by GT bowlers. SRH was bowled out for 86 runs, and GT won the game by 82 runs. For GT, Kagiso Rabada and Jason Holder took three wickets each.
Thanks to this massive win, the Gujarat Titans are now at the top of the IPL 2026 points table with 16 points from 12 games and 8 wins, and have one foot in the playoffs. SRH is at the third spot with 14 points from 12 games and 7 wins.
The cricket fraternity was all praises for the Gujarat Titans' bowling effort and lauded them on social media.
