On May 12, 2026, the Gujarat Titans (GT) hosted Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a blockbuster IPL 2026 match at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium. SRH captain Pat Cummins won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Shubman Gill (5) and Jos Buttler (7) were dismissed early, but Sai Sudharsan scored 61 with five fours and two sixes to keep the GT innings alive. Nishant Sindhu scored 22 runs to help stabilize the innings. Washington Sundar, on the other hand, pounded a solid fifty, bringing GT's total up to par.

He scored 50 in 33 balls, including seven fours and one six, as GT reached 168/5 in 20 overs. Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain took two wickets each.

It seemed like an easy target for Sunrisers Hyderabad to chase, given they had Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma opening for them, with Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen following them in an explosive batting lineup.

However, GT opening bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada had some other plans. Mohammed Siraj troubled Travis Head in the opening over. This rattled the Australian opener, who tried to force a big shot. He tried to flick a delivery on his pads over the leg-side for six.

However, the ball took the outside edge and flew towards the third man, where Nishant Sindhu took an easy catch, sending Head back for a duck. After Head’s wicket, Abhishek Sharma followed it up with a six in the next over, bowled by Kagiso Rabada.

But on the fourth ball of the over, seeing Abhishek moving down the leg-side, Rabada bowled into his body to cramp him for room. Abhishek tried to force a shot, but the ball hit his bat and body and rolled on to hit the stumps, dismissing him.
