Gujarat Titans (GT) skipper Shubman Gill was left speechless during the toss for their IPL 2026 match against Punjab Kings (PBK) on Sunday (May 3) when broadcaster Danny Morrison jokingly asked about his wedding plans.

Following his decision to bowl first at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gill was caught off guard by the unexpected personal question.

After discussing the pitch and team changes, Morrison turned to asking if there were any "wedding bells" in the near future, leaving Gill visibly stunned and smiling awkwardly. This question ended the conversation between the two, as Morrison shifted his attention to PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer.

Here's how the conversation unfolded:

Morrison: “Still, Shubhers, there are no wedding bells around the corner? Anything that we need to know about.”

Gill: “No. No. Nothing.”

Morrison: “Good to see you.”

It is worth mentioning here that Danny Morrison had left Shubman Gill in an awkward spot with a “wedding” question during the IPL 2025 season as well.

Ahead of the KKR vs GT clash at the Eden Gardens on April 21, 2025, Morrison asked, "You're looking lovely, no wedding bells in the future. What's happening? You getting married?"

Back then, Gill brushed it off with a smile. “No, nothing like that,” he replied.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India last year, Gill had clarified that he has been single for over three years, dismissing rumors about his personal life. He emphasized his focus on his career, noting the difficulty of sustaining a relationship while traveling for 300 days a year.

"I mean, I've been single for over three years, and so many speculations and rumours link me with different people. And sometimes, it's so ridiculous that I would have never even seen or met that person ever in my life. And I would be hearing rumours about why I'm with this person and this person, where else I'd be, like," said Gill.

"Like, I know I'm so focused on what I need to do in my professional career. There is no space in my life to be with someone for 300 days a year. We are on the road, travelling somewhere. So there is hardly any time to be able to be with someone or invest, you know, the time to be with someone in a relationship," he added.
