IPL 2026: WATCH- Vaibhav Sooryavanshi takes PBKS bowlers to cleaners; executes MS Dhoni-like helicopter shot

PBKS was asked to bat first by RR and posted 222/4 in 20 overs.

The Rajasthan Royals (RR) are to travel to New Chandigarh to face the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in one of the most anticipated games of the IPL 2026. Riyan Parag won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Prabhsimran Singh scored 59, and Priyansh Arya scored 29 as they contributed 37 runs for the first wicket. Cooper Connolly (30) and Shreyas Iyer (30) came out to give the PBKS innings a boost. However, when it appeared that PBKS might fall short of 200 runs, Marcus Stoinis delivered an outstanding performance.

Stoinis scored 62* in 22 balls, taking Punjab's total to 222/4 in 20 overs.

In response, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi took the Punjab Kings bowlers to the cleaners in a brilliant opening salvo. Sooryavanshi hammered three brilliant sixes to the likes of Arshdeep Singh and Lockie Ferguson.

One of the sixes off Ferguson was a perfect imitation of MS Dhoni’s helicopter shot, which also displayed the power the 15-year-old generates through his wrists.

Sooryavanshi’s scintillating knock came to an end with a 16-ball 43 runs, which included 3 fours and 5 sixes. He was caught by Shreyas Iyer, off the bowling of Arshdeep Singh, with RR on 51 in 3.2 overs.
