Archer managed to induce two edges from Arya in the same over, but failed to take his wicket.
Prabhsimran Singh made 59, while Priyansh Arya made 29 as they added 37 runs for the first wicket. Cooper Connolly (30) and Shreyas Iyer (30) got out, trying to give impetus to the PBKS innings. However, when it looked like PBKS would end up below 200 runs, Marcus Stoinis played a terrific knock.
Stoinis hit 6 sixes and 4 fours, scoring 62* in 22 balls, and took Punjab's score to 222/4 in 20 overs.
Jofra Archer picked 1/40 in his 4 overs, but the wicket column could’ve atleast one more wicket, if not for some poor tactical planning from RR captain Riyan Parag. The pitch had bounce and pace due to some moisture, and Archer was making the ball talk and bounce.
Jofra Archer bowled a delivery at Arya at 138.8 kmph in the third over. Priyansh tried to poke it, but his outside edge flew wide of wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel. If there had been a first slip, it would almost certainly have been caught.
Archer immediately turned around towards Riyan Parag and almost pleaded to him, like he had told him to put a slip fielder there.
Then in the same over, Archer induced another edge from Arya, and this time there was a slip fielder in Yashasvi Jaiswal. However, the ball was traveling at a good pace, and despite a big jump from Jaiswal, the ball kissed his fingers and flew for a four, leaving Archer more enraged and frustrated.
