PBKS have now won 5 out of 6 games they have played in IPL 2026.
Arshdeep Singh had a moment to cherish on Sunday after Punjab Kings (PBKS) snatched their 5th consecutive win of IPL 2026. They defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at home in New Chandigarh.
LSG started well, dismissing Prabhsimran Singh for a golden duck, but Priyan Arya and Cooper Connolly took the opposition bowlers to task. The duo accumulated 182 runs for the second wicket in just 13.2 overs, hitting sixes like crazy.
Connolly scored 87 in 46 balls, with 8 fours and 7 sixes, but it was little Arya who stole the show, scoring 93 in 37 balls with 4 fours and 9 sixes. LSG managed to take a few wickets, but Marcus Stoinis' fast 29 and contributions from Nehal Wadhera (13) and Shashank Singh (17) helped PBKS reach 254/7 in 20 overs.
In response, Mitchell Marsh and Ayush Badoni attempted to recreate the feat, scoring 61 runs in six overs. Badoni was dismissed for 35, while Marsh scored 40 runs off 28 balls. Rishabh Pant demonstrated daring by scoring 43 in 23 balls, while Aiden Markram struck 42 in 22 balls.
However, the target proved too big for LSG to chase, as they lost wickets on a frequent basis, and no set batter went on to reach a significant score. LSG only managed 200/5 in 20 overs, losing to PBKS by 54 runs.
Following another triumph, PBKS co-owner Preity Zinta was spotted speaking with fast bowlers Arshdeep Singh and Mohammed Shami. During their conversation, Zinta greeted Arshdeep with a heartfelt hug.
The left-arm seamer appeared thrilled. Singh celebrated furiously, punching his fists in the air. Zinta, who was present, burst into laughter. The entire episode has now gone viral on social media.
