Mukesh Kumar picked two wickets in DC's win over MI in Delhi.
This happened after the 8th match of the IPL 2026 between DC and MI. After being asked to bat first, Mi managed only 162/6 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, with Suryakumar Yadav making 51. Mukesh Kumar took 2/26 and was the standout bowler for the DC team.
Mukesh had an immediate impact, removing the in-form Ryan Rickelton with a well-directed good-length ball that was miscued to Axar at mid-off. Just two balls later, he made a brilliant return catch to dismiss Tilak Varma for a duck, leaving the Mumbai Indians two down in the powerplay.
DC chased down the total thanks to 90 by Sameer Rizvi and 44 by Pathum Nissanka and won the game by 6 wickets.
After the game, when the players of both teams mingled, Mukesh received praise from Jasprit Bumrah in his own style. Bumrah was also impressed by Mukesh’s reflexes to take a sharp caught and bowl.
“Well done, Mukesh McGrath," Bumrah quipped, leaving Rohit Sharma and Axar Patel, who were standing nearby, in splits.
Bumrah commended Mukesh for his efforts at the boundary line to dismiss Sherfane Rutherford.
“Mukesh picked up a great caught & bowled, and that one too, near the boundary line,” Bumrah added.
