The incident unfolded during the 43rd over of South Africa in Vizag ODI.
Former India skipper Rohit Sharma was at his comical best as he kept scolding teammate Kuldeep Yadav over his constant wicket appeals during the third ODI against South Africa in Vizag on Saturday (December 6).
The incident unfolded during the 43rd over when Kuldeep trapped Lungi Ngidi in front of the wicket and started persuading stand-in captain KL Rahul for DRS.
Rohit remained unfazed by Kuldeep’s animated appeals. He assessed the situation with a smile and didn’t give his nod for the review, a decision that Rahul followed.
Rohit mocking Kuldeep’s excessive appealing for DRS made for an entertaining moment for cricketers and fans alike.
At the mid-innings break, the wrist-spinner reacted to the on-field banter while also admitting that he is bad with DRS.
“In DRS, I am someone who is very bad and he (Rohit) is someone who keeps pulling my leg all the time. But yeah, whenever I am bowling, if I try to hit the pad and if I succeed in that, I feel like every ball is a wicket," Kuldeep said while speaking to the host broadcasters.
Coming to the match, India bowled out South Africa for 270 in 47.5 overs after KL Rahul won the toss and opted to bowl first. Kuldeep Yadav starred with the ball, claiming four wickets by conceding 41 runs in 10 overs. Pacer Prasidh Krishna also broke the back of South Africa's top and middle order, returning with figures of 4 for 66 in 9.5 overs.
Quinton de Kock was the top scorer for Proteas, hitting 106 off 89 balls. It was his 23rd ODI hundred and seventh against India in the 50-over format.
