Shubman Gill will miss the ODI series due to his neck injury.
The three-ODI series will begin on November 30, with JSCA Stadium in Ranchi hosting the first ODI. The second ODI will be played on December 3 at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur. The third and final ODI will be played at the ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on December 6.
Shubman Gill will miss the three-match ODI series, and in his stead, keeper-batter KL Rahul will captain the Indian team.
Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal have been chosen as the openers, with Ruturaj Gaikwad making his Indian team comeback. Rishabh Pant has also been included in the ODI squad, along with Dhruv Jurel. Virat Kohli retains his spot in the Indian ODI squad. Tilak Varma has been included in the squad.
Washington Sundar, Ravindra Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav will be the spinners in the team, with Jadeja coming back into the squad after not being picked for the Australia ODIs. Nitish Kumar Reddy will be the pace-bowling all-rounder in the team as Hardik Pandya recovers from his hamstring injury, which he suffered in the 2025 Asia Cup.
Harshit Rana, Prasidh Krishna, and Arshdeep Singh will be the fast bowlers in the Indian squad for the South Africa ODI series. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj are the missing names.
