England has been set a stiff target of 557 runs to use their bazball and win the ongoing third Test match against India in Rajkot. This comes after an excellent innings score by the home side, which included three brilliant knocks by Indian batters.

Resuming on day four at 196/2, India lost Shubman Gill for 91 runs as a result of a runout. Kuldeep Yadav’s 92-ball vigil also came to an end. This brought Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan at the crease and the duo took the attack to England bowlers.

Jaiswal resuming his knock at 104*, after retiring hurt on day three, went on to make 214* with a world record equaling 12 sixes and 14 fours. Sarfaraz Khan, on the other end, bettered his first innings score of 62 and made 68* with 3 sixes and 6 fours as India declared on 430/4.

This left England to score 557 runs to win the Test and their bazball style of batting was in the spotlight. But England openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley started cautiously. This caution came to haunt England in the 7th over.

On the first ball by Jasprit Bumrah, Duckett pushed the ball towards mid-on and set off for a run. But Mohammed Siraj swooped in quickly and picked up the ball, as Crawley sent Duckett back. Siraj made a solid throw at the batting end.

But Dhruv Jurel was running it from his positioning and collected an awkward throw near the stumps in motion. He collected the ball while semi-diving and broke the stumps in one motion, leaving Duckett short of the crease. The England batter had to walk back for just 4 runs off 15 balls.
