On Day 3 of the Rajkot Test against England, the Indian captain once again looked in his element as he instructed his troops to fasten the pace of the game.

With the threat of over-rate penalties looming over the team, Rohit hilariously asked his teammates to pass the ball and make bowling changes quickly to avoid over-rate penalty.

After the 68th over of the innings from Mohammed Siraj, the stump mic caught Rohit Sharma as saying: “Jaldi toh mangao ball yaar, ham log 3 over peeche hain. Ye jaldi all out ho gaye na toh ham log ka vo lagega (Get the ball quickly; we are three overs behind. If these guys get all out now, we will be struck with over-rate penalties).”

Coming to the match, India bundled out England for 319 to take a substantial first innings lead of 126 runs on Day 3 in Rajkot.

Riding on Yashasvi Jaiswal’s superb ton (104 retired hurt), the hosts reached 196/2 at the close of play, extending their lead to 322 runs. Shubman Gill (65*) and Kuldeep Yadav (3*) were unbeaten in the middle for India at stumps.
