India posted 445 runs in 1st innings and in reply England made 207/2 at the end of day 2.
India’s first innings ended on 445 with Rohit Sharma (131), Ravindra Jadeja (112), Sarfaraz Khan (62) and Dhruv Jurel (46) leading the way. Mark Wood toiled hard for his 4 wickets, while Rehan Ahmed took two scalps.
In reply, Ben Duckett ended the day on 133* and Ollie Pope made 39 as England made 207/2 in 35 over at the end of day 2. R Ashwin picked one wicket and completed his 500 victims in Tests.
While Jadeja had an excellent outing with the bat, but with the ball, the spinner looked out of touch. He conceded 33 runs in 4 overs with two no-balls. During the 31st over of the England innings, Jadeja bowled two no-balls to Joe Root and had Rohit Sharma perplexed.
The India captain commented that he never bowls these many no-balls in the IPL and joked that he should think that it is a T20 game and bowl accordingly.
"Yaar, ye Jadeja IPL mein to itne no-balls nahi dalta. T20 samajh ke bowling kar, Jaddu. (Man, Jadeja doesn't bowl this many no-balls in IPL. Think it's a T20 game and bowl)," Rohit said to Jadeja.
