Both Sarfaraz and Jurel made their Test debuts for India in ongoing Rajkot Test against England.
Former England cricketer-turned-commentator, Nick Knight, heaped praise on India's debutants, Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel, for their impressive performances in the ongoing third Test against England in Rajkot.
Both Sarfaraz and Jurel made their Test debuts in the third match of the ongoing five-match Test series against England at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot on Thursday, February 15.
Sarfaraz received his Test cap from the legendary spinner Anil Kumble, while Jurel was presented with his debut cap by the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik.
Meanwhile, Knight particularly praised Jurel for his outstanding performance in the first session of the second day, emphasizing that India should take pride in their new players.
Notably, Sarfaraz played a quickfire knock of 62 runs on 66 balls, while Jured made 46 runs off 104 balls to help Team India post 445 runs on the board in their first innings against England in Rajkot.
Nick Knight said on Jio Cinema: “India have got a couple of players on debut they should be really proud of. Sarfaraz yesterday and Jurel now. The way he's played through that session has been absolutely terrific. He's played the situation brilliantly.”
Knight added, “India was in real trouble when he came in, both players were on zero. He had to knuckle down and find a way of getting through. He's a guy who is making his Test debut and he's found a way to find strength for his partner Ashwin and found a way of getting through. I think he got off the mark after 11 balls but looking at him I thought this boy can play.”
Notably, England looked in a good position despite losing Zak Crawley for 15 on Day 2 of the Rajkot Test.
