IND v ENG 2024: WATCH- "It was just too enjoyable"- Yashasvi Jaiswal on his celebration after maiden double ton

Yashasvi Jaiswal became the third youngest Indian to score a double ton in Tests.

The young Indian opener, Yashasvi Jaiswal, took center stage by notching up a record-breaking double century on the second day of the ongoing second Test against England in Vizag.

The 22-year-old batter showcased a remarkable performance on Day 2 against England and smashed his maiden double century in Test cricket. Jaiswal's outstanding innings saw him score 209 runs off 290 balls, featuring 19 fours and 7 sixes in Vizag on February 3.

This outstanding performance undoubtedly stood out as the highlight of the day's play, but the young batter’s celebration after reaching the three-figure mark also caught attention.

Yashasvi Jaiswal said in a post-match video shared by the BCCI: “I enjoyed it, every ball, and it was quite nice to go out there and express myself. I cannot explain. I do not have words. It was just too enjoyable, and I felt happy.”

Speaking about his mindset during the innings, Jaiswal said: “I was thinking of making it big, 100 per cent. When I reached the double hundred, I wanted to celebrate and enjoy that moment.”

On being asked about his celebration, which included blowing kisses to the crowd, the young opener revealed: “I just did like this, kisses all to my loved ones.”

Jaiswal signed off by saying on Sachin Tendulkar’s social media post for him, “Thank you so much sir for all your support and wishes. I will keep trying and learning.”
