Sarfaraz Khan relished his dream of finding a place in the Indian Test team.
The right-hander, who has been a prolific run-getter in domestic cricket, earned his maiden India call-up after Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul were ruled out of the second Test against England due to hamstring and quadriceps injuries, respectively.
The selectors also added left-arm spinner Sourabh Kumar and all-rounder Washington Sundar to the squad.
After his first-ever call-up to the Indian team, Sarfaraz Khan is receiving congratulatory messages from the cricket fraternity. His Mumbai teammate and India batter Suryakumar Yadav also extended his best wishes to Sarfaraz.
Surya posted a picture along with Sarfaraz on his Instagram story and wrote, “Maiden India call. Utsav ki taiyaarrii karo."
Sarfaraz has so far played 45 first-class matches, scoring 3,912 runs at an average of 69.85, including 14 hundreds and 11 half-centuries.
