Indian captain Rohit Sharma insisted that his team is concentrating on their own playing style rather than getting carried away by the buzz around England's aggressive ‘Bazball’ approach to Test cricket.

Rohit further stressed that the Indian cricket team isn't overly worried about England's ‘Bazball’ style and said that he has confidence in his players to do well in the upcoming five-match Test series, starting on January 25 in Hyderabad.

England's ‘Bazball’ has proven effective on pitches with pace and bounce, but it is yet to be tested on Indian conditions, so everyone is excited to see how it works in India in the upcoming Test series.

As reported by India Today, Rohit Sharma told the media in Hyderabad: “We'll look to play our cricket. I'm not interested in looking at how the opposition is going to play and all of that. For us, we must look into our cricket. Focus on what we need to do as a team and then take it from there.”

Speaking about the wicket-keeping option, the Indian skipper noted: “Yeah, obviously those are the two keepers [KS Bharat and Dhruv Jurel] in the squad. We'll see and assess the performance.”

He added, “We are obviously looking at the bigger picture. We want to give as many games as possible to the individual. But we'll assess after every game what happens and what is right for the team. Whatever is right for the team will do the necessary things.”

Rohit also lauded R Ashwin for his outstanding bowling skills, and also acknowledged Mohammed Siraj’s breakthrough in the last couple of years in the Test side.

He signed off by saying, “Ashwin and Siraj have been important players for us. Siraj has come through the ranks in the last two years, he has taken his game to another level. Ashwin is class, every time he takes the field he impresses all of us.”
