Sanju Samson put on a show with the bat during India’s third T20I match against Bangladesh at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on Saturday (October 12).

Opening the innings, Samson launched a brutal assault on the opposition bowlers right from the outset. The right-hander reached his half-century off 22 balls and took another 18 deliveries to notch up his three-figure mark.

During his maiden T20I ton, Samson was particularly severe on Rishad Hossain as he smashed the Bangladesh leg-spinner for five consecutive sixes in the 10th over of India’s innings.

The wicketkeeper-batter was eventually dismissed in the 15th over by Mustafizur Rahman for 111 off 47 balls, including 11 boundaries and 8 sixes.

Samson’s carnage was equally backed up by India skipper Suryakumar Yadav, who slammed 75 off 35 balls with 8 fours and 5 sixes. The pair was involved in a 173-run partnership for the second wicket, which laid out the platform for the hosts to go for a gigantic total.

Thanks to their whirlwind innings and crucial cameos from Hardik Pandya (47 off 18) and Riyan Parag (34 off 13), the Men in Blue racked up a mammoth 297/6 on the board – the second highest-ever team total in T20I history.

Cricket fraternity was left speechless by Sanju Samson’s exhilarating batting display in the third T20I and showered rich praise on him.
