Young tearaway Mayank Yadav made an instant impact on his much-awaited India debut in the first T20I against Bangladesh at Gwalior on Sunday (October 6).
Mayank first over in international cricket was a maiden one. He also touched speeds of 141.8 kph, 145.7 kph and 147.3 kph in his first spell, marking an impressive start.
The 22-year-old claimed his first international wicket in just his eighth delivery, dismissing Bangladesh veteran Mahmudullah Riyad. In his second over, he hurried the batters with pacy deliveries, clocking 148.7 kph and 146.1 kph.
There was a lot of anticipation around Mayank’s debut and his early breakthrough further raised excitement as the youngster proved his worth on the international stage.

Mayank Yadav was one of the emerging stars of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. Playing for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), the right-arm quick caught everyone’s attention with his sizzling pace as he frequently bowled at speeds greater than 150 kmph and delivered the fourth-fastest ball in IPL history at 156.7 kmph.
Unfortunately, an injury ended his participation after only four games, during which he picked up seven wickets and earned two Player-of-the-Match awards.
Having recovered from the back injury, Mayank recently received his maiden India call-up for the ongoing three-match T20I series against Bangladesh.
