Ravindra Jadeja, the veteran Indian all-rounder achieved a huge milestone as he completed 300 wickets in Test cricket. He achieved the feat on day 4 of the ongoing second Test between India and Bangladesh being played in Kanpur.
After more than two days were lost to rain and wet outfield, play resumed on day four under bright sunlight. Mominul Haque continued from 40* and compiled an amazing century and remained unbeaten on 107 in 194 balls with 17 fours and 1 six in his knock. The next best score was Najmul Hossain Shanto’s 31 runs and 24 by opener Shadman Islam.
For India, Jasprit Bumrah took three wickets, while Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj, and R Ashwin took two wickets each.
Ravindra Jadeja came into this Test needing one wicket to reach the 300 Test wickets milestone and despite initial frustration, his efforts bore fruit as Jadeja managed to get the final wicket of Khaled Mahmud, who was out caught and bowled.
Jadeja celebrated his 300th wicket and his teammates rushed to congratulate him.

Ravindra Jadeja became the seventh Indian bowler to take 300 wickets in Tests and second quickest in terms of balls (17428) behind R Ashwin (15636). Jadeja also joined the elite list of players with over 3000 runs and 300 or more wickets in Test cricket.
Jadeja’s effort was lauded by the cricket fraternity who congratulated him on social media platform X for his 300 Test wickets achievement.
