The third day of the ongoing second Test between India and Bangladesh in Kanpur was washed out due to rain on September 29, 2024. Only 35 overs were bowled on day one when India won the toss and chose to bowl first at the Green Park Stadium.

Bangladesh managed 107/3 in 35 overs when day one was washed out shortly after the lunch break, while the next two days have also been washed out due to either wet outfield or rains.

The third day was also abandoned despite there hasn't been a single drop of rain since Sunday morning. The umpires' eventual announcement after the second inspection at 2 PM IST left fans on social media enraged.

Kanpur did have overnight rain, which delayed the start of play as India and Bangladesh players remained at their team hotel. However, the sun came out in the afternoon, and there were no damp areas on the pitch, giving some hope that the play may resume.

However, moist places near the bowlers' run-up area on the outfield could not be dried off, and the umpires called off the third day at 2 PM IST, following their second inspection.

The revelation enraged fans on social media, who questioned the stadium's drainage system and labeled Green Park as the "worst venue," while chastising BCCI for the "poor facilities" at the ground.
