Virat Kohli enjoys a massive fan following across the globe but in India, his homeland, the star batter’s popularity is on a different level.

The glimpse of Kohli’s fan following was recently witnessed when he arrived in Kanpur for the second Test against Bangladesh.

In a viral video on social media, Kohli was seen getting mobbed by a sea of people as soon as he entered the hotel lobby. A tilak was applied on his forehead and he was greeted with presents and bouquets.

Amidst all this, the legendary cricketer was forced to turn down a handshake as the entire welcome got a bit too overwhelming.

When a hotel authority (presumably) approached Kohli for a handshake, the former India skipped, holding a bag in one hand and bouquet in another, had to decline his request. "Sir, 2 hi haath hain (I got only two hands)," he was heard saying in the video.

Earlier, Kohli was spotted along with head coach Gautam Gambhir and teammate Rishabh Pant at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.

The trio shared a buggy, with Gambhir and Kohli engaged in conversation, while Pant listened closely as they made their way to board a flight for Kanpur.

Talking about Virat Kohli, he failed to make a mark with the bat in the first Test against Bangladesh at Chepauk, registering scores of 6 and 17 across the two innings.

In the first innings, Kohli was caught behind chasing a ball outside off, while in the second, he failed to pick a fuller-length delivery and was given out LBW.

Virat Kohli will be determined to bounce back in the second Test against Bangladesh, starting on Friday (September 27) at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.
