IND v AFG 2024: WATCH- Akshar Patel, Rinku Singh and others talk about the cold in Mohali ahead of 1st T20I

The 1st T20I of the three-match series to be played in Mohali's PCA stadium.

India and Afghanistan will clash in the first T20I of the three-match series on January 11, 2024. The match will be played at the IS Bindra, PCA Stadium in Mohali. This is the first time India and Afghanistan are playing a bilateral series against one another.

Rohit Sharma will be back as India T20I captain after 14 months while Virat Kohli, who also has been included in the squad, will be available for the 2nd and 3rd T20Is.

This will be India's final T20 International assignment ahead of the all-important T20 World Cup. The 2024 ICC T20 World Cup is scheduled to take place from June 4 to 30 next year, hosted jointly by the West Indies and the United States.

The northern part of India is undergoing a spell of freezing cold waves and the Indian team diligently practiced for the opening match against Afghanistan, donned in jackets, woolens, and warmers.

The BCCI, on Thursday, shared a video showcasing the Indian players undergoing training and preparations for the upcoming T20I.

Multiple players shared their experience of playing in bitter cold conditions, while the likes of Arshdeep Singh and Shubman Gill joked about the cold weather.
