India and West Indies met in the second T20I in the new and swanky Ekana International Stadium in Lucknow and the people who came there to watch the match were treated to some fireworks on the occasion of Diwali.

India was put into bat by West Indies as Brathwaite won the toss. India had one change to their lineup as Bhuvneshwar Kumar came back in the team. For West Indies, Nicolas Pooran came into the side.

Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan gave India a dream starts by scoring 123 runs 14 overs. Dhawan played a supporting role, making 43 runs in 40 balls with 3 fours. However, Rohit Sharma took the onus of going after the Windies bowling

Rishabh Pant failed once again, trying to play for galleries. However, KL Rahul gave the perfect impetus to the innings with a 14-ball 26* with 2 fours and a six.

However, the hero of the match was Indian captain Rohit Sharma, who scored his fourth T20I century and second as captain, both world records, as he broke the tie between him and Colin Munro for three T20I centuries. During the course of his innings, Rohit Sharma also became the highest run-getter in T20Is for India, leaving behind Virat Kohli.

For Windies, Khary Pierre (1/49) and Fabian Allen (1/33) were the only wicket-takers.

Rohit ended up making 111* in 61 balls with 8 fours and 7 sixes. India finished on an impressive 195/2.
