Prithvi Shaw is the 15th Indian to score century on Test debut.
Shaw got to show his talent and class, as Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to bat first. Shaw hit the ball to all parts of the ground and looked visibly comfortable against short pitch bowling and wrist spin of Devendra Bishoo.
Shaw completed his century off 99 balls, making him the third fastest centurion on debut and 15th Indian to achieve the debut century feat.
Mumbai Police tweeted a funny message in wishing fellow Mumbaikar Shaw on his debut Test century, saying “From our 100 to yours! It’s always a good start... the very best to you @PrithviShaw #Dial100”
