Virat Kohli also revealed the mindset of the team.
After destroying West Indies in all three formats in their home conditions, Virat Kohli and Co. will take on South Africa in a three-match T20I and three-match Test series at home. The first T20I at HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on Sunday (15 September) will mark the beginning of the T20I series.
While talking about the game plan against South Africa to the reporters in a press conference, Kohli said, “For us as a home team, we have to absolutely sure of our game plan. The way we prepare for an overseas series, where we have to be very focused, it’s the same. International cricket is nowadays about the mindset.”
“As coach Ravi Shastri said in the past - ‘every condition can be home condition if you feel comfortable’. I think it’s getting into the frame of mindset for us, and hence we have been one of the most consistent teams in the last two-three years,” he added.
When asked about winning home games, the Indian skipper said, “We want to win every game, whether it’s home or away, any format - we just want to go out there, play our best cricket and win.”
After beating West Indies in both Test matches, Team India are at the top of the table for World Test Championship (WTC) with 120 points to their name. In this three-match Test Series against Faf du Plessis-led South Africa, 40 points will be up for grabs in every match for a win.
