India defeated New Zealand by 168 runs in third T20I to win the series 2-1.
It was a clinical and dominating performance from the Men in Blue as they batted first and posted 234/4 with Shubman Gill making 126* and Rahul Tripathi making 44. Then with the ball, Hardik Pandya picked four wickets and with other bowlers making merry as well, the Kiwis were shot out for 66 runs to lose by 168 runs.
It was the biggest win by runs in T20Is between two full member nations and the 25th series win on a trot for India at home.
While Shubman Gill got the Player of the Match for his century, captain Hardik Pandya was named the Player of the Series as India came back from being 0-1 down to win the series.
After Pandya collected the winner’s trophy, he went straight to the players and handed over the trophy to Prithvi Shaw, who did not get a game but appeared to be the most excited of the lot.
An elated Shaw took the trophy from Pandya and stood in the middle of the group for the photo op, raising the trophy high in the air.
