Former West Indian cricketer Ian Bishop loved the fact that Virat Kohli opened the batting for Team India in the final T20I against England and wants to see more of that happening in the future.

Kohli walked out to open the innings with his deputy Rohit Sharma in the T20I series decider on Saturday, March 20 as Team India was put in to bat first. He steered the Indian innings from one end while Rohit, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya accelerated at the other end.

The skipper remained unbeaten on 80 off 52 balls as India registered their highest T20I total against England - 224/2. They later restricted the English batsmen to 188/8 and won the match by 36 runs to claim the trophy.

Ian Bishop posted a tweet expressing his wish to have the Indian skipper Virat Kohli batting at the top of the order especially when Team India bats first. He wrote, "I would love to see Kohli open more often especially when India bat first in T20I."

Suryakumar Yadav, in his second batting innings for Team India, took charge of keeping the run-rate high as Kohli anchored the innings. He scored 32 runs off just 17 balls before being brilliantly caught at long-on by Chris Jordan and Jason Roy.

Bishop was impressed with the batsmanship of Suryakumar. He wrote, "SKY is some player!!!!"
