India took a big 160-run first-innings lead in the ongoing fourth Test against England.
Sundar came into bat when the hosts were struggling at 146/6 while replying to England’s first innings total of 205. However, the southpaw showed great composure under pressure and added 113 runs for the seventh wicket with Rishabh Pant, who smashed 101.

Sundar, who was unbeaten on 60 at stumps on Day 2, continued his brilliance on the third day as well but he couldn’t notch up his maiden Test ton.
The 21-year-old shared a 106-run stand for the eighth wicket with Akshar Patel (43) but once the latter got run-out, India’s innings quickly folded for 365, leaving Sundar stranded on 96*.
Nonetheless, Washington Sundar’s unbeaten knock ensured that the hosts take a big 160-run first-innings lead.
