Ashwin completed 400 wickets during the third Test at Ahmedabad.
Ravichandran Ashwin on Saturday (February 27), addressed a virtual press conference from Ahmedabad and spoke about various topics. Apart from answering questions on the quality of the pitches used in the ongoing series against England, and the pink ball, he was also asked about his thoughts on a Yuvraj Singh tweet that made the news after the 3rd Test.
Ashwin, along with Akshar Patel, decimated England at the Narendra Modi Stadium inside two days as India won by 10 wickets to lead the series 2-1. The spin twins picked up 18 wickets between them in the match as England were bundled out for 112 and 81.

Ashwin also became the fourth Indian bowler and second-fastest bowler overall to take 400 wickets in Test cricket's history, playing his 77th Test.
While most of the former Indian cricketers applauded the efforts of the spinners, Yuvraj's tweet raised many eyebrows as he seemed to be unhappy with the pitch. He wrote that if Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh played on such surfaces during their careers, they would have picked up 1000 and 800 wickets, while also congratulating Akshar and Ashwin on their performances.
Ashwin responded to Yuvraj the next day and thanked him for his wishes.
When asked by a reporter if he felt hurt by Yuvraj's remarks, Ashwin said, “When I read Yuvi pa’s tweet, I actually didn’t get affected at all because I didn’t find that he was telling us anything, trying to suggest anything.
“It just felt like a really plain tweet, saying ‘we were good and…’,”
He also added, “For me, the state of mind I am in, I didn’t find it anything wrong or agenda-driven or anything like that. I know Yuvi pa for a long time and I have the utmost respect for him.”
