R Ashwin completed 400 Test wickets in the third Test between India and England.
India captain Virat Kohli called off-spinner R Ashwin a modern-day legend while praising him after the third Test against England on Thursday (February 25). Ashwin picked up 7 wickets in the match which helped him complete 400 wickets in Test cricket.
Ashwin became the fastest Indian bowler to pick 400 Test wickets in terms of matches, and the second-fastest overall. He reached the milestone in his 77th Test.
Kohli lauded the spinner for his achievement in the longest format. Ashwin, 34, still has a lot of cricket left in him and he can easily break more records.

"We all need to stand up and take notice of what Ashwin has contributed to Indian cricket and we should all be very proud of it. I told him from now on I'm going to call you leg.
"400 is an outstanding achievement and still so many games, so many years to go for India and I think in Test match cricket, he is surely a modern-day legend. We're just lucky to have him in our team," Kohli said.
"His skill sets and how he applies himself and makes those breakthrough performances for the team every now and then. As a captain I am so pleased he plays for us," he added.
Ashwin is the fourth Indian to enter the 400 club after Anil Kumble (619), Kapil Dev (434), and Harbhajan Singh (417).
