Jasprit Bumrah has been replaced by Mohammed Siraj for the second Test against England in Chennai.
Former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir is happy with the decision of Team India's management to rest the ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah in the second Test against England.
Speaking on Star Sports' show Cricket Live, Gambhir said Bumrah will now be fresh for the pink-ball Test match, scheduled to be played in Ahmedabad after the second match.
"I think it is a good decision to rest him. He will be ready to go in the pink-ball Test match. There is nothing for the fast bowlers here and he has bowled a lot of overs in Australia and the first Test match, so I think it was a very good decision from the team management's point of view," Gambhir said.

India's highest wicket-taker on the Australia tour, Mohammed Siraj has replaced Bumrah in the playing XI. "You would want to have Jasprit Bumrah for the crucial Test matches, the pink ball one and the fourth Test and there will be hardly any gap between the two. So, I think it is the right decision," he added.
Bumrah is playing his first home Test series for India. He made his Test debut back in 2018 on the South Africa tour and Team India used him for away series only before the ongoing clash against England.
After winning the toss in the second Test, India captain Virat Kohli said they are managing Bumrah's workload, as he's someone who features in all three formats.
"Jasprit Bumrah has been rested for this game. We need to manage his workload. Mohammad Siraj comes in for him and he brings good variety," Kohli said.
