Ahead of the day's end, however, Root was struggling with cramps and it was when his Indian counterpart came to his aid.

Kohli helped Root stretch his legs which gave him some relief. The video of the same has gone viral on social media, with everyone praising the Indian captain.

Virat Kohli’s gesture also reminded the fans of former India skipper MS Dhoni, who did the same for Faf du Plessis in an ODI in 2015.

In fact, BCCI took to Twitter and shared a video of both the instances with a caption reading: “Class Act! Respect your opposition, the @msdhoni and @imVkohli way! #SpiritofCricket #TeamIndia".
