IND v ENG 2021: Team India completes quarantine, clears all COVID Tests; to begin nets on Tuesday

The first Test begins in Chennai on Feb 5.

The Indian team has completed its mandatory 6-day quarantine in Chennai’s Leela Palace hotel and have also cleared all the COVID tests, with all returning negative results for the three coronavirus tests that they had undergone during their quarantine period.

The team is expected to have an outdoor training session in the evening on Monday, and net sessions are set to begin on Tuesday. Team India players had started to arrive in Chennai on Wednesday.

"The Indian Cricket Team completed their quarantine period today in Chennai. Three RT-PCR tests for Covid-19 were conducted at regular intervals and all tests have returned negative results. The team will have their first outdoor session today (Monday) from 5:00 PM,” a BCCI communique stated.

Apart from India, the England squad in India also have all returned negative Covid tests and will train together at the stadium on Tuesday between 2-5 pm.

The first Test starts on February 5 at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on Friday. Chennai will also host the second Test between the two teams starting from February 13.

The remaining two Tests will be played in Ahmedabad's Motera Ground, which will also host the five-match T20I series before teams move to Pune for three ODIs.

Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj also posted a photo with Shahbaz Nadeem while traveling to Chepuak for an evening practice session on his Instagram.
