Shubman Gill added 113 runs with Cheteshwar Pujara for the 2nd wicket.
After scoring 21 and 5 in the third Test in Indore, which India lost in embarrassing fashion, Shubman Gill has silenced anyone who had doubts about his ability and his backers rejoiced as he struck his second Test century on day three of the ongoing Ahmedabad Test, his first in India.
Facing a stiff first-innings total of 480 set by Australia, India lost Rohit Sharma for 35 runs, but Gill and experienced Cheteshwar Pujara (42) added 113 runs for the second wicket to keep India on the path.
Gill was sublime in his strokeplay and reached the three-figure mark in 194 balls with 10 fours and one six to his name. He celebrated his century in his own style as he took a bow in front of an Ahmedabad crowd in the Narendra Modi stadium and raised his bat towards the dressing room.
