Karthik has impressed one and all with his insights and humour in the commentary box.
On Day 1 of the third India versus Australia Test in Indore, Karthik earned himself the 'Nostradamus' tag for predicting Umesh Yadav's next move on-air.
Indian batting line-up fell like a pack of cards on a turning pitch at the Holkar Cricket Stadium. However, senior pacer Umesh played a small cameo of 13-ball 17 while batting at No. 10.
During Umesh's stay at the crease, Karthik predicted that the speedster will take the aerial route to smash Australia spinner Nathan Lyon for a six.
"I think he's going to go for a six," Karthik told his co-commentator. "It's either six or out," Karthik quipped before the delivery.
As it turned out, Umesh cleared the midwicket boundary with a slog-sweep against Lyon to end the 30th over. His knock was studded with 1 four and 2 sixes.
Taking to Twitter, Karthik shared the video of his prediction with the caption, “I loved this moment ... Hahah #prediction”.
In the end, India’s first innings folded for a paltry 109 as Australia’s spin troika of Matthew Kuhnemann (5-16), Nathan Lyon (3-35) and Todd Murphy (1-23) wreaked havoc with the ball.
