Australia to play four Tests and three ODIs on their tour of India.
India and Australia will play four Tests- from February 9 in Nagpur, from February 17 in Delhi, from March 1 in Dharamshala, and from March 9 in Ahmedabad. The two sides will also play three ODIs as well on March 17 in Mumbai, March 19 in Vishakhapatnam, and March 22 in Chennai.
India is the current holder of the Border-Gavaskar trophy, having won two back-to-back Test series in Australia and having defeated Australia in India in 2017.
This time however, Rohit Sharma will be captaining the side for the first time in a Test series against Australia and the hosts will be without their mercurial wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant who is recovering from his car accident and knee surgery.
Rohit Sharma will lead the side with KL Rahul as his deputy. Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, and Shreyas Iyer have been named as batters, while Suryakumar Yadav has also been called up in the Test squad.
Ishan Kishan earned his maiden Test call-up, along with KS Bharat as the wicketkeeper in the squad. R Ashwin, Akshar Patal, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja have been picked as spinners with Jadeja's availability subject to fitness.
