IND v AUS 2020: COC Predicted Team India XI for first ODI at Mumbai

The first ODI will be played in Mumbai on Jan 14.

By Jatin Sharma - 13 Jan, 2020

The Indian domestic limited overs tourney continues with Australia coming for a three-ODI series which will start from January 14, as the first match will be played at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The Indian team will be at full strength when it comes to some of the players coming back from a short break and will be taking on an Australian team flush with talent with both bat and the ball. Therefore, Team COC presents to you the Predicted Indian team XI for the first ODI.

Rohit Sharma is back to his opening position after having a much-needed break during the Sri Lanka T20I series. He may be opening the innings with his regular partner Shikhar Dhawan, who made a perfect return to the side with some good runs against Lanka, including a half-century. Both of them are one of the greatest modern-day opening combinations.

They might be followed by Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, both of whom are in amazing form with Kohli decimating West Indies in T20Is and ODIs, while Rahul grabbing his chances in absence of Dhawan at the top and given that he has always been in good knick in current time, he deserves a place in the playing XI.

Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja are most likely to form the middle order of the team. Iyer has been designated to be given a long run in the team, while Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja provide the muscle at the end. Selectors are keeping going with Rishabh Pant as the keeper, while Jadeja will be the second spinner possibly along with Kuldeep Yadav for the first ODI. Kuldeep had a good outing against Sri Lanka and has a good record against Australia.

The fast bowling department might see Shardul Thakur, who picked wickets and scored runs partner up with Mohammad Shami and Jasprit Bumrah. Shami is in good form with the ball and will be refreshed after a much-needed break from the game, while Bumrah is expecting to get back into rhythm after a decent return to the game against the Lankan team.

COC Predicted Team India XI for 1st ODI:
Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli (C), KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (WK), Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammad Shami, Jasprit Bumrah
