India were bundled out for a mere 107 in the first innings at Lord's.
There were plenty of hopes from the Virat Kohli led Indian Test team as they embarked on their England tour after winning 9 of their last 10 series. However, the numero uno Test side are yet to prove their mettle on English soil as they lost the first Test at Edgbaston by 31 runs and now are in a dreadful position in the second Test at Lord’s.
After being bundled out for 274 and 162 in the opening Test, it was expected that the Indian batsmen would lift their game at the Home of Cricket. Unfortunately, the visiting batters couldn’t able to adjust their game and bowled out for a mere 107 with James Anderson picking up 5 wickets for 20 runs.
After such a miserable show, the backlash from the fans and media was pretty much given. Amidst all the criticism though, India’s limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma has come out in support of the team and urged the fans to stand by the team in this difficult phase.
Talking to the Twitter, Rohit wrote: “Let’s not forget these are the players who got India to the number 1 ranking. How about being little supportive when the going gets tough. This is our team.”

India were blown away by the swing a seam from the English pace attack. None of the batsmen managed to cross the 30-run mark. Ravichandran Ashwin was the top-scorer in the innings with 29 runs.
Skipper Virat Kohli looked determined to replicate his performances of the first Test. However, rain interruption didn’t help his cause and Chris Woakes eventually claimed his wicket as the game finally resumed in the third session.
