India’s fast-bowling sensation Umran Malik’s stock is on the rise ever since the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, where he took 22 scalps in 14 games for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Thanks to his IPL 15 exploits, Umran earned his maiden India call-up and played three T20Is on the tour of Ireland and England earlier this year.

Currently, the 22-year-old speedster is plying his trade in the Irani Cup 2022 for the Rest of India side against Saurashtra – the Ranji Trophy Champions of 2019-20 season.

On Day 1 of the match, Rest of India bundled out Saurashtra for a paltry 98 in just 24.5 overs. Umran Malik was one of the stars with the ball, returning with the figures of 3 for 25 in his 5.5 overs.

He accounted for the dismissals of Arpit Vasavada, Jaydev Unadkat and Dharmendrasinh Jadeja. However, it was Saurashtra skipper Unadkat’s wicket that caught everyone’s attention.

Umran knocked over Unadkat with a ferocious yorker as the latter couldn’t bring his bat down in time and saw his off-stump shattered.

Here’s the video:

Besides Umran Malik, Mukesh Kumar and Kuldeep Sen wreaked havoc on Saurashtra's batting line-up. While Mukesh picked 4 wickets by conceding 23 runs in his 10 overs, Kuldeep returned with the figures of 3/41 in his seven overs.
