Yashasvi Jaiswal didn't contribute a run during the 66-run opening stand with Prithvi Shaw.
However, the southpaw was seen playing a completely contrasting knock in the ongoing Ranji Trophy semi-final between Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh on Thursday (June 16)
Opening the innings for Mumbai, Jaiswal did not score a single run for the first 53 balls of his innings. When the left-hander finally opened his account, his Mumbai teammates ended up cheering him from the dressing room. In fact, some of the Uttar Pradesh players also joined in with applause sarcastically.
Jaiswal took it all sportingly and raised his bat towards the dressing rooms after scoring his first run on the 54th delivery that he faced.
Notably, Jaiswal and Mumbai skipper Prithvi Shaw (64) were involved in a 66-run opening stand in the second innings. Interestingly, Jaiswal didn’t contribute a run in the partnership.
Mumbai finished the third day on 133/1, extending their second innings lead to 346 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal remained unbeaten on 35 alongside Armaan Jaffer, who ended the day on 32 not out.
