Danial Ibrahim scored a half-century at the age 16 years and 299 days.
Young 16-year-old Sussex all-rounder Danial Ibrahim became the youngest player ever to score a half-century in the County Championship.
The all-rounder achieved this feat during Sussex’s encounter against Yorkshire at Emerald Headingley, scoring 55 runs in 134 balls that included 8 fours.
Danial Ibrahim, 16 years and 299 days, joined Bilal Shafayat, who scored 72 for Nottinghamshire in 2001 at 16 years and 360 days, to become only the second 16-year-old to score a half-century in the county championship.

Talking about his knock, Danial Ibrahim admitted that he was surprised when he knew he would make his debut for Sussex and said that it was a special moment for him to see Ben Brown make his century from the other end.
"I was shocked on Sunday when I was told I was playing, but I was so excited. There are not many better grounds than Headingley on which to make a debut, and it was just so special to be out there when Ben Brown made his century," Danial Ibrahim told Sussex cricket club.
Ibrahim admitted that it was tough for him to bat against the new ball and added that he felt very special to beat the record of the half-century by the youngest player.
"It was tough to bat against the new ball, but Browny helped me though and took the pressure off me. I found it tough, but I just had to keep battling through and do the best I could.
"It was very special to beat the record [youngest fifty makers in Championship history]. Matt Prior [who capped Ibrahim on day one] told me I should be here and learn, that it was early in my journey and there was still a long way to go," he said.
