The knockout stage of Vijay Hazare Trophy is set to begin in New Delhi on March 7.
The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) on Tuesday named the 22-member squad for the knockout phase of the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Young Indian opener Prithvi Shaw is set to lead the Mumbai squad in absence of Shreyas Iyer, who will be on national duty to play the five-match T20I series against England along with Suryakumar Yadav and Shardul Thakur.
Mumbai cricket team dominated the group stage as they remained unbeaten and won all their five games in Elite Group D.
The knockout stage is set to begin in New Delhi on March 7 and with the absence of some key players from the squad, it would be a massive task for the Prithvi Shaw-led Mumbai team ahead into the domestic 50-over championship.
The Mumbai selectors have picked the likes of young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, Siddhesh Lad, experienced wicket-keeper batsman Aditya Tare, Akhil Herwadkar, Sarfaraz Khan, and Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube in the batting department.
While Mumbai’s bowling department led by experienced speedster Dhawal Kulkarni comprises Tushar Deshpande and Aakash Parkar, Prashant Solanki, Atharva Ankolekar, and Shams Mulani.
