St Lucia Zouks beat St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in Match 7 of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2020 in Trinidad this Saturday (August 22).

Batting first, Zouks made 172/6 in their 20 overs on the back of opener Andre Fletcher's 33-ball 46 and quickfire thirties from Mark Deyal (30) and Mohammad Nabi (35*).

Jon-Russ Jaggesar, the off-spinner, picked up two wickets (2/29) while skipper Rayad Emrit (1/14) bowled a restraint spell, but the rest of the Patriots' attack went for plenty.

In the run-chase, the Patriots fell short by just 10 runs despite wicketkeeper batsman Denesh Ramdin's 35-ball 46 in the middle-order. Opener Evin Lewis struck 29 runs off 20 balls and tailender Sheldon Cottrell played a quickfire cameo (26*). But the lack of support either side meant that the Patriots couldn't reach home at the end.

Scott Kuggeleijn (4/32), Roston Chase (3/17) took seven wickets between them and Nabi once again did his job with a fine economical spell (1/17).

St Lucia Zouks 172/6 in 20 overs (Andre Fletcher 46, Mohammad Nabi 35; Jon-Russ Jaggesar 2/29) beat St Kitts and Nevis Patriots 162/8 in 20 overs (Denesh Ramdin 46, Evin Lewis 29; Scott Kuggeleijn 4/33) by 10 runs.

In Match 8, Guyana Amazon Warriors successfully defended the lowest ever total in the history of CPL against Jamaica Tallawahs.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman (3/18), Sandeep Lamichhane (2/8) and Carlos Brathwaite (3/14) picked up eight wickets between them for the Tallawahs to dismiss the Warriors for just 118 in 19.1 overs.

The Warriors went past the 100-run mark only because of useful twenties from Brandon King (29), Chandrapaul Hemraj (21) and Ross Taylor (21).

In the second half, however, the tables turned completely, as the Tallawahs lost regular wickets along the way and eventually fell short by 14 runs despite an unbeaten half-century from Andre Russell (52*) and still having three wickets in the bank at the end of the 20 overs.

Chris Green, the Warriors skipper, picked up two wickets (2/10) while the rest of the cast, featuring Imran Tahir (1/26), Ashmead Nedd (1/10), Naveen-ul-Haq (1/22), took one apiece, in an inspired bowling performance.

Guyana Amazon Warriors 118/10 in 19.1 overs (Brandon King 29, Chandrapaul Hemraj 21; Mujeeb Ur Rahman 3/18) defeat Jamaica Tallawahs 104/7 in 20 overs (Andre Russell 52*, Rovman Powell 23; Chris Green 2/10) by 14 runs
