Saurashtra beat Bengal in the finals on first-innings lead.
Saurashtra won their first-ever Ranji Trophy and wishes have been pouring in from the Indian cricketing fraternity.
The Jaydev Unadkat-led Saurashtra side laid their hands on the Ranji Trophy for the first time after getting into the Finals for the fourth time. The side was consistent throughout the season and got a boost in the Final in the form of Cheteshwar Pujara.

He was not in the best of his health but still contributed with the bat and eventually, they ended up with more runs than Bengal in the first innings.
The second innings was irrelevant as only 34 overs were possible and the game was decided on first-innings lead. It was an exemplary performance by the Saurashtra side for over three months that has earned them the coveted trophy and many former and current Indian cricketers congratulated them for their achievement.
