Babar Azam warmed up nicely in Pakistan’s first ICC World Cup 2019 warm-up game against Afghanistan on May 24. Babar Azam scored a brilliant century-112 in 108 balls and added 103 runs with Shoaib Malik (44), helping Pakistan reach 262 in 47.5 overs.

However, the total was not enough as Afghan batsmen, especially Hazratullah Zazai (49) and Hashmatullah Shahidi (74*) took on the Pak bowlers and made sure Afghanistan registered a comfortable win in the last over.

Though Babar Azam was lauded for his century, in the post-match press conference, he was asked a very odd question by a journalist. The press person asked Babar whether he had scored the laziest of centuries in the history of the game and that too on a dead pitch.

Babar Azam was not just ready to take it and said, “Sir, you may think so but I play according to the plan the team sets for me. I don’t play for myself. This is not my team. This is Pakistan team for which I play. My job was to build partnership. If I had also gone out, even this much total would not have been possible.

Here is the video of journalist asking Babar Azam an inane question:
